Tip: The best time to dive there is between October and February, but it's important to note that the current can be strong outside of slack time. Check with your dive master to determine the best time to dive.

Description

Tires' is a lovely little reef made of truck tires tied together on a sandy slope starting at 18m. Here, you can spot ghost and banded pipefish, nudibranchs, seahorses, and "Shaun the sheep" nudibranchs. 'Cars' is another must-visit site, with both shallow and deep areas full of marine life. The shallow area has sunken mooring lines and concrete blocks, while the deeper area features old car wrecks and a concrete mixer hosting ghost pipefish, nudibranch, stargazers, tiny frogfish, lionfish, and flamboyant cuttlefish.

Tip: To fully explore the area, it's recommended to do a couple of dives. Using nitrox can help to maximize bottom time when diving the deeper part.

Our house reef, the first marine protected area in Dauin, boasts a diverse range of corals, including staghorn, brain and mushroom corals, as well as sponges, anemone and their clown fish, and abundant reef fish. With its shallow depth and ease of diving, it is perfect for beginners, and a sandy area before the reef provides an ideal spot for practicing confined water skills required for the PADI Open Water Diver course. Additionally, the area is a known spot for sightings of green turtles.

This dive site is divided into two separate areas, which are separated by a mucky gorge. The north side, located within the marine protected area, is a slope covered in small soft and hard corals. Divers can spot a variety of reef fish and macro creatures in this area. On the other hand, the south side of the site offers great opportunities for muck diving and reef diving. Divers can expect to see numerous nudibranchs, including the famous Halgerda batangas, black coral sea snails like the spindle cowrie, schools of yellow snappers, saw-blade shrimp, and more!

The dive site derives its name from the chapel on Apo Island visible from the boat. Starting on a white sandy slope with shallow corals, the dive continues towards a wall that drops to over 30 meters, although it's recommended to hover between 18 to 24 meters to fully appreciate the wall's grandeur. Typically a drift dive, you'll encounter schools of reef fish, banded sea snakes, and if you're lucky, a glimpse of the magnificent bumphead parrotfish in the deep waters. At the end of the wall, you'll also get the chance to explore a small cave.
